This is s a single-varietal Gamay Noir, sourced exclusively from the Barsotti Vineyard in El Dorado County. This wine expresses the unique terroir of its high-elevation site, resting at nearly 3,000 feet. The mature vines of Barsotti are rooted in pink granite soils (classified as Musick series), a composition that is responsible for lending a distinct, cooling minerality and structure to the final wine. Through whole-cluster carbonic maceration, the vibrancy and purity of this high-altitude Gamay are fully expressed, resulting in a wine of notable freshness and character.

To capture the Gamay Noir's signature bright and lively character, the fruit from the high-altitude Barsotti Vineyardunderwent seven days of whole-cluster carbonic maceration. This unique process, famed for defining the Beaujolais Nouveau style, is where the berries ferment from the inside out within a carbon dioxide atmosphere, creating a vibrant burst of candied red fruit: think vivid cherry and crushed raspberry, and a playful lightness on the palate. The resulting wine channels the purity of Barsotti’s pink granite soils, delivering a chillable red that is light on its feet and brimming with high-elevation energy.

This single-vineyard Gamay Noir is a delicious contradiction: delicately bold and vibrantly fresh. On the nose, you'll find an explosion of primary red fruits: intense aromas of crushed raspberry, cranberry, and wild strawberry, along with a subtle lift of sweet baking spice. The first sip reveals a very fruity palate bursting with notes of cherry candy, red plum, and a hint of floral incense.
