2019 Make Money, Red Wine, Napa Valley

Life's short. So make love, make art, make out, and get your money. And if the haters can't handle it, fuck 'em.

Make Money finally reunites us with the iconic Sita Kaylin to bring you the most confident, sexy wine you will ever pour in your mouths. While you may love us for the weird shit, we've gone back to the fundamentals here to craft a classic Napa Valley Bordeaux blend that will make your tongue moan.

You know the phrase, "you gotta know the rules before you break the rules," well, we ardently stuck to the traditions of Bordeaux for Make Money, blending 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot, 2% Malbec, and 1% Merlot. The fine folks of Bordeaux have proven over the centuries that these five varieties make for the most epic orgy of flavors, and given that they are French, we are inclined to trust them on matters of both wine and orgies.

To demonstrate how legit our fruit is, we sourced grapes primarily from the Oak Knoll District and Spring Mountain District AVAs, which are known for their growing prowess, especially for Cabernet Sauvignon. Harvested between October 10th and 21st of the 2019 season, our fruit was 100% destemmed and fermented in stainless steel with a three-day cold soak and pumpovers twice a day. We kept the fruit on its skins for roughly 35 days to extract color, flavor, and tannins. Then it was into barrels. In this case, Make Money spent 22 months in French Oak, 30% of which was new. Let us just say, our winemaking team is as classically trained as any, and when it comes to making Napa Valley red wines, they know what's up.

Waves of complex, enticing aromas of ripe raspberry and cherry, vanilla, and floral notes hit you like a first kiss. On the palate, there is a pure expression of fruit and power, with bold flavors of blackberry, black cherry, wrapped around mocha, cinnamon, and cedar. With sensual, silky smooth textures and integrated tannins, this opulent wine was literally made to encourage drinkers to make out.

We've been waiting forever to work with Sita Kaylin again, so when we pitched her idea for the label, she not only loved it, she shot it a few hours later. Depicting two people making out near a dumpster in a graffitied alley, we wanted to capture a sense of anarchistic love and freedom. The type of image to encourage our fellow dreamers to make that painting, kiss that special someone, and ball out in the process.

Sita is one of our longest collaborators. A published photographer and author, she is known for her sexy vintage aesthetic, moody portraits, and dangerous wit. We first worked with Sita on our Vinyl Love project, which spawned a spiritual sequel, Lick, and later a sparkling wine called Truth or Dare. Sita's story is one of the wildest and fascinating of any of our artist friends and if you haven't already, check out her book Anything But a Wasted Life to follow her wild journey.

And that's it. A big sexy Napa Valley red blend to end the year. Now go throw up some middle fingers and kiss somebody.
